Safety Induction Booking Process

The online BHP Mt Arthur Coal Safety Inductions Booking process is completed in six steps, outlined below. The full process is detailed at the bottom of this page.

Step 1 | Register your company

Step 2 | Book your employees into the online BHP Billiton Asset Induction (Contractors)

Step 3 | Employee successfully completes online induction and has competency added to profile and card

The next induction you book is the BHP Site Induction, which replaces the Maintenance and CHPP Plant Inductions.  The BHP Site Induction is for those who have not completed the Maintenance and CHPP Plan Inductions, or these inductions have expired.

If your employee works in an electrical, mechanical or supervisory role, or is a Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice or Electrical Trade Assistant, they’ll need an approved Appointment Letter before you book them into the BHP Site Induction (Contractors Appointment). See below for the Appointment Letter template.

If they work in another role, then they won’t need an Appointment Letter from site for you to book the BHP Site Induction (Contractors No Appointment).

Do need an appointment letter:

Step 4 | Download the Appointment letter (see the process detailed below) Once downloaded, complete, collect and email the required documents (also detailed below) to nswec.statutory.appointment@bhpbilliton.com  Mt Arthur Coal will review this and tell you if they have approved or rejected your letter of appointment. Once you have an approved appointment letter, book your employee into the online BHP Site Induction (Contractors Appointment).

Do not need an appointment letter:

Step 4 | Book them into the online BHP Site Induction (Contractors No Appointment)

Step 5 | Book your employees into these online inductions which they must complete before coming to site:

  • BHP Code of Business Conduct – Core Training
  • BHP Field Leadership – Overview
  • BHP Field Leadership – Take Time Talk
  • BHP Fatigue Management
  • BHP Mental Health Induction
  • BHP Ground Control Awareness

Step 6 | Employee successfully completes all inductions and has competencies added to profile and card
