Where do I register in the BHP Mt Arthur Coal Contractor System?

What benefit does the system have for BHP Mt Arthur Coal contractors?

Registration ensures contractors are qualified to work for BHP Mt Arthur Coal. It allows you to keep company and worker information up to date in one place online, and to ensure your workers are qualified and compliant to safely work on site.

How much does it cost to register in the system?

Business registration costs $100 + GST annually.

Worker registration is valid for five years and costs $100 + GST per person for the management of roles, verification of documents, online training, and supply of card.

Annual support and maintenance costs $30 + GST per person. A tax invoice will be supplied on payment.

If you have recently paid for the Asset Induction for your worker, you will NOT BE REQUIRED to pay the full $100 + GST registration fee at this time. Instead, you will only be charged $1 + GST per worker for:

  • Worker registration (valid for five years)
  • Role management
  • Document verification
  • All online training
  • Access ID card

This $1 + GST fee applies only to those with valid Asset Inductions, and you are still required to follow the process to register them in the contractor management system. Asset Induction renewal costs $100 + GST.


Which documents will I need to upload for my business?

To reach business compliance in the system, you will be prompted to upload:

  • company pre-qualification approval email from BHP
  • SMS compliance letter
  • copies of licences, insurances, certifications based on your answer selections

Which roles do I select for my worker?

If your worker:

  • is in an electrical, mechanical or supervisory role
  • is a Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice
  • is an Electrical Trade Assistant

you will choose the MAC Worker Appointed role which will require an Appointment Letter to be uploaded. Information about Appointment Letters can be found on the Roles and Inductions page.

All other workers will have the MAC Worker role selected.

Which inductions will I book?

BHP Mt Arthur Coal’s inductions include the following modules at a cost of $100 + GST per worker. Required inductions are booked automatically as you select roles in the system, with the induction link and login details emailed.

Valid for five years:

  • BHP Billiton Asset Induction
  • BHP Billiton Site Induction
  • BHP Billiton Field Leadership – Overview
  • BHP Billiton Field Leadership – Take Time Talk
  • BHP Ground Control Awareness
  • BHP Mental Health Induction
  • BHP PHMP Air Quality, Dust & Other Airborne Contaminants

Yearly requirement:

  • BHP Code of Business Conduct (current year)
  • Fatigue Management (current year)


Which documents will I need to upload for my worker?

You’ll be prompted to upload:

  • Proof of ID
  • Letters of competency
  • Letter of Appointment (for MAC Worker Appointed role only)
